The SGCC Hopper Car Fleet was original built by Hawker Siddeley Canada Ltd in Trenton, NS and Thunder Bay, ON.

The original paint design is brown and orange in colour, with accent pin stripping and a wheat sheaf. There are approximately 800 SGCC hopper cars in service with the original paint scheme.

In 2007, the SGCC repainted 110 of the SGCC hopper cars. The repainting was completed by GE Rail Car Repair Services Company. Regina, SK and the decaling package was supplied by Arco Graphic Inc., Saskatoon, SK.

The new paint scheme is a solid green with a three part decaling package including the word Saskatchewan! in white, a orange prairie lily and a harvest yellow swoosh.
